Notes from the making.

An open notebook of how my work comes together: the earth I test, the mixes that fail and the ones that work, and the thinking behind each plaster, prototype and model. I share it so you can see exactly how I work before we build together.

Earth Lime Notes: from test samples to finished walls

Layers of lime, earth, mineral pigments and countless test samples. Exploring colour through natural oxides and watching how each surface develops its own character has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. The process is as much about discovery as it is about craft: documenting the trials, missteps, experiments and successes that shape every project along the way. These images capture fragments of that ongoing exploration, from early test batches to completed walls, each stage revealing the subtle variations, textures and possibilities of natural materials. Every sample, every surface and every finish has something to teach.

Bamboo model making: a miniature Earth Dome

Developing a miniature Earth Dome model from bamboo strips with bamboo artisan Pak Adi, exploring form, structure and circular geometry through hands-on model making before real-scale execution. Grateful to @custodia.bali for creating such an inspiring space, where nature, regenerative architecture, craftsmanship and creative minds come together in the mountains of Jatiluwih.
